The double champion, returning to a circuit where he has had many wins in the past, was consistent if not blindingly fast by his standards all weekend.
A podium in the first race was reward for a consistent ride, as many of his rivals fell and he was able to stay aboard, albeit seven seconds behind race winner Lorenzo Lanzi.
The super smooth Aussie rode more aggressively early on in the second race but was unable to make a pass stick on Spaniard Ruben Xaus.
Once past the Barcelona man, Corser could not get enough speed from the bike to push on and improve his place, finishing fifth.
"We got a podium in race one but we were lucky," admitted the Australian. We have struggled with grip, more on the rear and when I spin the tyre the bike doesn't push out of the bends as well as it could.
"It's OK for the tyre to spin but it didn't have enough forward drive coming off the corners.
"It feels like I am trying to ride the bike too hard yet not getting the optimum results we want."
Corser is third in the WSBK standings, but level on points with the in form Carlos Checa.
