Pedrosa fastest in Jerez practice 3

Dani Pedrosa led the third and final free practice session at Jerez de la Frontera ahead of tomorrow's motorcycling Spanish Grand Prix.

The Repsol Honda rider set his best lap of 1:40.337 in the first fifteen minutes of the one-hour session.

Teammate Nicky Hayden looked set to make it a works Honda one-two, when he was only 0.078 seconds behind his teammate with just a few seconds of the session remaining. But Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards put in a late quick lap that was 0.013 faster than his compatriot's.

Loris Capirossi set the fourth-fastest time with his Rizla Suzuki, ahead of Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo and JiR Team Scot Honda's Andrea Dovizioso.

Reigning world champion Casey Stoner was seventh-fastest with his Ducati Marlboro, followed by Valentino Rossi with his works Yamaha.

LCR Honda's Randy de Puniet led proceedings in the first few minutes of the session but did not further improve and ended up ninth, with Chris Vermeulen rounding up the top ten with his works Suzuki.
