MotoGP 125 cc, Corsi dominates race at Jerez

Aprilia's Simone Corsi took a dominant victory at Jerez in the 125cc Spanish Grand Prix.

The Italian beat teammate and home favourite Nicolas Terol by over three seconds, after the latter held the lead from lap two to lap 11.

Briton Bradley Smith, who started from pole and made a good getaway off the line with his Aprilia, lost ground to the top two finishers but managed to hold off Stefan Bradl to get the last place on the podium.

Pablo Nieto, the first non-Aprilia rider with KTM, finished in fifth place.

The Aprilias of Steve Bonsey and Scott Redding finished in a distant sixth and seventh, followed by the two Derbis of Dominique Agerter and Mike di Meglio. Sandro Cortese completes the top ten finishers.

Reigning champion Gabor Talmacsi had another weekend to forget when he suffered a mechanical problem on lap four and retired.

Three laps later, Sergio Gadea and Efren Vazquez crashed in the gravel while fighting for 18th position, while Daniel Webb and Joan Olive crashed out in separate incidents on lap 10.
